HYALURONIC ACID - 10X MOISTURIZATION

Hyaluronic Acid (Sodium Hyaluronate): Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is actually very similar to Glucosamine, which many of you may know as a collagen like supplement that is helpful for aging joints.  The word Glucosamine breaks down into 'Glucose' (a sugar) and 'Amine' a protein.

So it is that Hyaluronic acid is a simple sugar, or saccharide.. (in the cause of our HA,  it is specifically Lactose/Lactic Acid that has been fermented with a bacteria strain, similar to how yogurt is made).  Originally, HA was extracted from Rooster Combs, which have a very high concentration of this healing protein, but now it is generally made in a safer and more environmentally sustainable fashion..and the Roosters are probably happier too!

Hyaluronic Acid makes up a huge percentage of the synovial fluid in your joints and is very prolific in skin cells, giving the skin a firm, plump, moist appearance. Babies are born with an abundance of HA, and their beautiful skin is a reflection of that fact.

Unfortunately HA begins to diminish in our teens and is only present in small quantities by age 40. Luckily though, HA uptakes readily through the skin and has the ability to hold many times it's weight in water, giving a firmer, thicker, more dewy appearance to the skin.  As such, it is wonderful addition to any serious skin care product.
