Discovery of TOPICAL BO-TOX
In our travels in New Delhi, India, our Founder/CEO discovered a 'miracle cream'. After talking with many flight attendants who swore by it, (Deb's husband is an Airline Pilot), Deb tried this cream & was quite impressed with its efficacy.
JULY, 2009
AYURVEDA MEETS WESTERN SCIENCE
Deb contacted and then toured the pharmaceutical factory (Shalaks) that manufactured this ‘Miracle Cream’ She found that it not only contained proven ‘Argireline & Matrixyl Peptides’, but was also based in Ayurvedic botanicals. The owners offered her an opportunity to bring the product (then named Boxtlak-BL) to the USA.
2010
FORMING THE COMPANY
Deb originally formed Teva (a Hebrew word for 'of the earth') Skin Science and later relabeled this miracle cream in compliance with our FDA, now named “BioScience Peptide Complex' - signifying a modern peptide formula based in Ayurvedic botanical science.
2011-12
HUNDREDS OF UNITS SOLD IN 1st MONTH
Our first big trade show by huge professionals! We were surprised with so many positive feedbacks on the product and some invaluable advice.
We needed more products..
We also tried our hand on Amazon and sold hundreds of units the very first month. Many of those same customers are customers to this day! :)
2013
MEETING OUR CHEMIST & DESIGNING THE 3-DosHA LINES
Trade shows continued and we were eventually introduced to a semi-retired Ayurvedic chemist in the USA . He designed 3 lines of 'Dosha' specific (Ayurvedic Skin types) Cleansers, Hydrators & Serums, complimenting our original BioScience Peptide Complex. Our laboratory was rebuilt and relocated to our home office town of Asheville, NC.
2014-15
INTO THE LIMELIGHT - PRESS & AWARDS
Shalaks pharmaceuticals was sold. We reformulated our original BioScience Peptide Complex with wholly organic & sustainably wild-crafted ingredients in keeping with the rest of our line here in the USA. We had also begun getting positive press and awards, including Organic Spa and International Beauty Magazine Awards.
2017
EU & East-West Reach
Our new blog & website was launched. We also cleared our products via EU standards & began selling wholesale to spas, and East/West Medical practioners. By this time, we had brought on more products including our SunProtect SPF30+ - a top selling mineral Sunscreen.
2018
Rebranding ‘Puraveda Organics’
We rebranded our company to 'PuraVeda Organics' as Teva Pharmaceuticals had been bought by Johnson & Johnson and we wanted to avoid any conflict or association with them. We also stopped our association with Amazon, and are now selling exclusively on our website to retail & wholesale customers.
2018-Present

Our business has continued to grow, mostly via word-of-mouth, expanding into using more of our dosha-based lines. We now boast 34 products and are soon offering sets of compatible products, which includes Dosha specific Haircare, encompassing 9 excellent products, now used by many professional hair salons.
